Hard to believe we’ve been here at the farm for one year! Where does the time go? There are still so many plans in the works, but we’re finally feeling settled in. Thank you very much to the town of Chester for welcoming us with open arms!
Fall is a crazy time for us (as obvious by the lack of posting!) It’s harvest time and we spend a lot of time picking, canning, freezing, drying and pickling! There are still lovely things coming out of the garden – potatoes, beets, rutabagas, cabbages, kale and more. We’re extending the season with our small greenhouse – there are some lovely peppers and celery plants thriving and tender spinach and greens that we’ll keep going for as long as we can. There’s nothing tastier than going out and picking fresh greens when there’s snow on the ground!
It’s the last week of the CSA. Those 16 weeks just flew by! We’re already thinking about next season and all the exciting varieties we’d like to add on. Here are some of the goodies that were in the recent baskets…
Keep your eyes peeled for more things to come this fall and winter! There are hayrides to be had and full moon snow shoe hikes… and who knows what else!
