Despite abundant food in Australia, many families go hungry on a regular basis, with evidence suggesting this is a growing problem now affecting the ‘working poor’.
Food insecurity is also experienced by children impacting on their physical, social and emotional development. So, join us to learn about the problem but also to hear inspiring stories of courage and enterprising spirit.
Keynote speakers will include reknown nutritionist Rosemary Stanton, Foodbank NSW CEO Gerry Andersen and social entrepreneur Michael Maxwell.
The event will be held on Tuesday 16th of October 2012 (on World Food Day and during the Anti-Poverty Week) at the Theatrette of the NSW Parliament House on Macquarie Street Sydney. For more info about the event visit the event page or download the flyer here.
Hope to see you there and don’t forget to bring your friends along. Poverty is a matter that concerns all of us!
