The weekend of Sat 28 – Sun 29 March 2015 is set to be a packed one!
With Earth Hour happening Saturday evening, and both Neighbour Day and the City of Whitehorse’s Sustainable Food and Wine Fair on Sunday, there’s chockers of great events the whole family can sink its teeth into.
This year join me and others around the country for Earth Hour, going in the dark for an hour from 8:30pm local time on Saturday 28 March 2015.
Earth Hour is a great Australian home-grown story, now with millions of people around the world switching their lights off to drive the conversation surrounding climate change, and what we can do to help. This years theme is Food and Farming, something that underpins the daily lives each of each and every one of us. Like Earth Hour, Australia’s exceptional food is backed by some exemplar Aussie farmers working hard to make sure we’re able to access plentiful and quality produce. However, climate change is influencing what farmers are able to harvest, and in turn what we’re able to put on our plates.
Get the friends and family together to celebrate great Aussie food, or check out the brilliant range of events being held in your local community at http://www.earthhour.org.au/get-involved.
Where will I be on the night? You can catch me at the Coal Loader in North Sydney, 6:00pm-9:00pm. More details at http://www.northsydney.nsw.gov.au/Waste_Environment/Get_Involved_Green_Events/Green_Events/Earth_Hour_2015.
Let us know what you will be up to in your part of the planet.
