Return of The Mermaids to Manly

This week I have had the opportunity to visit Mermaid Pool in Manly Vale NSW to learn about a wonderful bush regeneration project.

It  has been going on now for 12 years and as  part of an upcoming episode of Gardening Australia we are filming a story on the history and regeneration of this stunning local landscape and a couple of the committed and dedicated volunteers behind it’s ongoing success.

The project won an award at the 2011 Sydney Metropolitan Catchment Management Authority Environmental Awards Night and this is a small video about the project. An awesome example of how individual passion can build community drive and momentum to uncover these kinds of hidden local ecological gems that exist in suburbs all across the country.
